Filter Replacement

A part of keeping your vehicle running smoothly is to make sure you are changing out your vehicles’ filters. Over time the filters in your car collects dust, slunge, and other unwanted particials so it is important to have them checked reguarly for optimum performance.

These are the most common filters  we at Pit Stop recommend checking:

  • Engine Air Filter
  • Cabin Air Filter
  • Transmission Oil Filter
  • Fuel Filter
  • Engine Oil Filter

The cabin air filters clean the air that goes through your vehicle. It keeps the air you breath clean and free of harmful particles in the air. Over time dust, bugs, and other particals in the air gets caught in the filter. This filter does not affect the drivability of your vehicle, however if it gets clogged up enough it can strain your AC system.  During every oil change our technicians pull out this filter to check it and make sure you and your loved ones are breathing in clean and healthy air.

The fuel and engine oil filters do have an affect on the drivabilty of your vehicle. During every oil change Pit Stop Auto Repair certified technicians remove your old engine oil filter and put a brand new one in! This ensures that when the new oil runs through the engine the particals and build up from your old filter does not get recylced into the engine.

Your fuel filter keeps water and sediment from reaching your engine. A clogged fuel filter shortens the life of your fuel pump and effects your engine’s performance, which can affect your fuel mileage. The recommended mileage replacement of the fuel filter varies from vehicle to vehicle, but on average the recommended replacement is every 30 thousand miles. If you have any questions as to when your specific vehicle needs to have its fuel filter replaced call any one of our Pit Stop locations and we will be happy to look it up for you!
